Sunday Church Day

Yellow Cardi By H&M, Silver Gladiator sandals By
Nordstroms, Silver hoops, Silver Bangles
..and My Bible =]

Today was kind of long.. It was the last day of our Gospel Meeting with Lindy McDaniel (former Major League Baseball Pitcher)
.. 3 sermons in all. Yeah. The lessons were good though, but by the end of the day I was restless of sitting still in that pew.. and my bottom was kind of sore :o

Lunch was at our house.. We ate Mexican. There was lots of people. After lunch I snuck away for a quick nap. It was short, but refreshing! The kids started a game of Catch Phrase while I was sleeping.. I woke up to the timer beeping! I didn't officially play, I just blurted out guesses whenever I felt like it.

It was a good day. And now I am happy the end is here.. Bedtime!

Saturday Shmatturday

Powder Blue AE long sleeve, Gray Beanie,
Black leggings, Glasses and TOMS!

Today I woke up, put on my dress and headed to my Saturday morning spot.. Starbucks! Yes it's true, I'm in love with Starbucks and I don't care who knows it!

About a month ago or so I decided to cut coffee out of my weekly routine and save it for the weekends only (or special occasion).. this decision was made both to cut on calories and to save some moula. So, I decided that I would make it my Saturday morning tradition to make a trip the local Starbucks, which I like to refer to it as "my Starbucks"! I love it.. the smell of the freshly ground coffee brewing, watching people coming and going. I like to bring my knitting.. I always get so much accomplished.. and it's fun when people ask me about it =] I have started to make friends with the employees (since I am now a Saturday morning regular. They remember me.. and my drink) and it's really fun. I think what I like about it the most is that it's mine.. it's my thing.. it's something I am choosing to do. It's me living MY life. So much of the time I feel like I'm living a life that is being chosen for me. I have to go along with the flow. That sounds pretty pathetic, I know. I feel like my Saturday morning coffee is the only thing in my life that has any form of independence from anything or anyone.. and it feels SO GOOD!

Okay, so I didn't mean to get all sappy and everything but there you have it.. anyways, I was going to say that this "idea" of mine.. this "Saturday morning tradition" that I've started.. I'd say it deserves 5 stars!

Here is me in my Day 2 outfit ♥..

The October Dress Project!

Here we go..

So for the next 30 days I, along with
approximately 130 women from around the country will be taking part in a month long challenge to wear the SAME DRESS.. everyday!

So.. what's the point? that's a good question. As soon as I heard about "The October Dress Project" a few weeks ago, I was immediately intrigued by the idea and wanted to participate. I believe the point is to simplify, inspire creativity and challenge your self discipline. Now is that why I'm participating.. maybe.. probably not. That's all a little too deep for me. Haha. I just thought it would be fun and a rewarding experience.. and did I say fun!!

I will be taking a photo of me wearing my dress ever
yday. I will try and post pictures as often as I can. Everyday would be ideal but I won't try and commit to that.

neglected

So wow... I finally started a blog and then I totally forget about it. Oh well.

Christmas came and went so fast this year. I was determined to not be stressed about it and I think I successfully conquered. I haven't been feeling the best lately so I don't feel like I got to fully enjoy the holiday experience. Maybe next year!

It has almost been a year since my surgery and I can hardly believe it! In some ways it feels like it was yesterday and in others it feels like it's been a long time. I have been feeling pressure lately to get a job. I feel like people think i should. Here's the thing.. I just don't feel quite ready. Yes I had my surgery and yes I am feeling better these days.. even better than I did pre-op but I still don't feel fully recovered. They say it can take up to 3 years to heal completely, at least in my case since I was sick for so long. People just don't understand, and that's ok I guess. I don't expect they could. God understands and that is a great comfort. I've had a lot of people tell me... "I forget you're even sick, Mandie cause you don't act like a sick person." they tell me "I think that's cool". Quite honestly I don't know if I consider this a compliment or not. I have mixed feelings about it. Hmm.. I don't know why but I have been in such a melancholy mood lately.. it must be 'cause I'm not feeling good.

On a more positive note I got a new camera and am very excited about it.. I have been thinking about getting into photography for a while. So I finally made the plunge and invested in a DSLR canon T1i. I know nothing! so far the automatic modes take awesome pictures, I can't wait to learn all the cool techniques! I hope I've got what it takes.

Well, that'll be all for now.

i have been thinking...

...about starting a blog for a while. i think the biggest thing that's kept me from starting one until now is not knowing what to blog about. so, i figure i'll just blog about my daily happenings. i live a simple life i know, but i'm happy with it.
